Subject: 08.05.23 Postdoc, Computational Chemist, Simulations to obtain Solvation Free Energies and Protein Folding Thermodynamics and Kinetics, IBM Research, San Jose, CA, USA
Postdoctoral positions are available in the Life Sciences Simulation group
at the IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, CA, USA
(
http://www.almaden.ibm.com/st/computational_science/PFolding/ ).
The group is looking for postdoctoral researchers in chemistry or physics
who are interested in solving biological and chemical problems through
the application of high-performance computing. Research areas in the
group include simulations to obtain small molecule solvation and ligand
binding free energies; simulations of protein folding thermodynamics and
kinetics, especially for peptides and small proteins in solvents and near
surfaces; and simulations of hybrid quantum-classical systems. One
position may be supported with NSF funding. Applicants should have
experience in two or more of the following: biomolecular simulation
(including analysis of simulation data); modeling of biological systems;
scientific programming. Experience/interest in parallel programming
and/or polymer physics would be a plus.
Please send a CV and 3 letters of recommendation to Dr. William Swope
( swope..almaden.ibm.com ); please also copy Dr. Julia Rice,
